Diary: My Experience of Blessings Project under I Light Global
Day 4/9/2022 11:00 PM: Another Mesmerising Day of my life under I Light Global.
While i was on a call with Rajeev Sir, I got a call from my cousin to take his mother to local mini medical hospital since she had Typhoid. So I did the same, i dropped her along with her grandson. While on my way back to home I saw a boy carrying Cotton candy stand on his shoulder. Hardly of 10-12 year age itsounded to me.

I stopped him to buy a cotton candy and open the conversation to know more about him. He lives in Panchrukhi Market itself. He was a migrant kid, father working a daily wage labourer. His name is Kishan. Kishan sells the candies during the day.
I asked him if he goes to school.
Kishan: “Gaon me jaata tha” (Used to go when I was in Village)
Me: Konsi class me padte the (In which class you’re studying)
Kishan : “Paanchvi (5th) Class me padta tha, 2 saal ho gye school nahi gye hue, ab mai saatvi class me ho gya hu (I used to study in Fifth class, now its been 2 years since I went to school, So Now I am in 7th class)
Me: Yaha par school me nahi gye (Did you not join a school here)
So I got to know due to Aadhar Card he could not join the school here. As our conversation went along, he told he was good at school. Boy: Paaji main 100 me 70 number laata tha aur baaki ke 50-60 aate the (Elder brother, i used to get 70 out of 100 while others could get 50-60 only).
So I told I teach other kids as well at my house. He thought if I was pitching paid tution to him and he wanted to take it.
Then I clarified its free for everyone and plus we will also provide stationary support. He got confused at first then trusted me. Asked me to write down my number for him and he will call at evening.

So after I reach home about after half an hour, I got call from this boy. He was calling from someone’s cell phone. He asked me to take him to my house. He along with his 2 brothers wanted to visit and study. So I went back to market and pick them and show my place of study.
In below picture, Kishan along with his 2 brothers and an old student Deepak. This boy is a quick learner as i tested his learning capabilities on first day itself.

Later in the evening I got call from his father as well. Told him about our vision & mission. Suggested him to get the Aadhar Card for him. Told them about his talent. Interestingly his other 2 younger brothers (Diljeet – sibling), Harshit (his cousin) were also good at learning.
This was a very satisfactory feeling for me to ignite the spark of education in that boy. I hope his life be transformed and may he achieve the destiny of successful academics in his life.
Sept. 2022 Update: Kishan has been admitted to a School in Panchrukhi. I am happy he has the basic mean (Education) to enable himself and walk on the path to lead his life that he wants. I wish one day when he becomes what he wants and may he stumble upon this page and inspire the world through his lifestory.
Day 4/2/2022: 7:00 PM (IST)
A guidance by Rajeev Sir to monitor kids daily nutrition.
I approached kids to teach them and engaged conversation to know about what they had in breakfast.
Kiran replied “bhukh nahi thi toh kuch ni khaate hain”.
Me: “Beta kuch na kuch khana jaroori hai aise toh body ko bhukh lagni band ho jayegi”.
I asked other kids, Diwakar replied, kuch bhi ni khaya.
Then Priyanka told “Nashte me Chai Biscuit khaye the aur kuch ni khaya”.
Me: “Toh ab dopaher me khaoge?
Priyanka: “Nahi ab seedha raat ko hi khaate hain”
I was dumb shocked to hear this !!!!!!!!!!
So this is why Rajiv Sir asked me to collect data of kids daily diet. At first, it did not make much sense to me to why I should collect data related to meals of kids on daily basis.
Problem is multifaceted when we break down into it for a holistic understanding.
It touched me emotionally, my mind was disturbed with so many questions, so many whys. We have to be logical thoughtful bring about some practical and sustainable solutions that should last and make some meaningful impact in the lives of these kids along with their parents.
So far there have been 5 kids who have gotten admission into School Education System and are getting empowered in their lives with the most powerful tool which is EDUCATION.
Main reasons for the rising migrants in India:
1. The rising poverty.
2. Better health, educational facilities, and other means of wellbeing.
3. Environmental calamities like floods, cyclones, droughts, etc.
4. The polarizing geopolitical conflicts like Politics and War.
5. Separation from families while migrating and they are vulnerable without any adult supervision.
6. Many children fled their homes due to parental neglect, and a toxic environment at home and school.
The said reasons forced the children to leave their homes despite not being emotionally supportive of this move. The rising difference in culture and linguistics. The difficulties in the fields of intelligence and psychology make it harder for children. The rising costs of living and education institutions, as well as the residential displacement, serve as the abhorrent barriers between children and education.
The barriers often create a negative impact not only on the children but also on the country. It could affect health and character development in the long term. Without intellectualism and personality, they would be stuck in the vicious, never-ending cycle of poverty. The children would also face adjustment issues without any adequate social and emotional skills.
The government has initiated several programs to provide education to migrant children with the likes:
1. Migrant Education Program: The priority objective of this program is to find the location of the migrant children and their families all over the country. The program also aims to provide supplemental educational services to increase academic proficiencies and higher education.
2. Samagra Siksha: This program is mostly preferred in the issues of seasonal migrants. State governments must use certain strategies which receive the blessings of the Indian Government under this program.
3. Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) and Teacher Education (TE).
How common people can provide help:
1. Voluntary participation in NGOs, non-profits, and social movements that aim to help provide education to migrant children.
2. Check in your locality for the mapping of the educational institutions like government schools and social education groups.
3. To tackle hunger, connection to the families is a number one objection. That way people can provide necessary items like the ration cards to the families of the migrant children. Ration cards with minimum free or minimum possible cost can make a lot of difference in the lives of children and their families.
We must help the children psychologically by providing them with positive social surroundings could raise the morale of the children and their mental health would be in a better shape so that they could perform better in society.
“A nation is built on children. They are the future”.

Framework / Mindmap to teach kids
This framework consists of three main branches: Language (English & Hindi), Math, and Life Skills.
Under the English and Hindi branch, there are sub-branches for Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening. Reading can include simple stories and picture books to help kids develop vocabulary and comprehension skills. Writing can include practicing letters, words, and sentences, as well as journaling and creative writing prompts. Speaking can involve simple conversations and dialogues, pronunciation drills, and role-playing activities. Listening can include listening to audio books, songs, and short stories, and answering questions about them.
Under the Math branch, there are sub-branches for Numbers, Operations, Geometry, and Data. Numbers can include counting, recognizing and writing numbers, and basic arithmetic. Operations can include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Geometry can include recognizing and drawing shapes, and understanding spatial relationships. Data can include collecting and organizing information, and interpreting graphs and charts.
Under the Life Skills branch, there are sub-branches for Health, Safety, and Social Skills. Health can include hygiene habits, nutrition, and exercise. Safety can include fire safety, traffic safety, and personal safety. Social Skills can include communication, teamwork, and conflict resolution.
These are just a few examples of what could be included in each branch and sub-branch. The key is to make the lessons engaging, interactive, and age-appropriate, and to tailor them to the needs and interests of the kids. We could use a variety of resources, such as online videos, worksheets, games, and real-life examples, to help teach the concepts.
